EARTH SONG

From fallow ground
raided by weeds
lying low, dormant
since eons; now
nursing a sip of dew
springs…
a sapling of viable ancestry
progeny of yesteryear

Wild dahlia, white

long buried and forgotten
prises its past
rears its head once again
simmering snowflakes or stars
kindling dreary landscape
declares…
the Womb of the Earth
is forever fertile.
